Bracing for Cuts, Military Firms Shed Workers

As the public sector (government officials, teachers, police, fire, etc) continues to contract, it is inevitable that private industries that service and support the public sector will follow suit.

Tightened spending at the Pentagon is unsettling the defense industry, with Lockheed Martin announcing Wednesday that one-quarter of its executives had applied for buyouts as the company cut costs.
