Social Security to start cashing Uncle Sam's IOUs

The Well is DRY.
Somebody had their hand in the cookie jar.
Washington in the act of the Artful Dodger.

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — The retirement nest egg of an entire generation is stashed away in this small town along the Ohio River: $2.5 trillion in IOUs from the federal government, payable to the Social Security Administration.

This is what fiat money is good at. The inherent, undisciplined nature of fiat money is well documented within the lessons of history. As one of the first countries to experiment with fiat, the Chinese know it. The Romans and Roman Empire know it. Thomas Jefferson, as detailed within his correspondence and the carefully chosen words of the US Constitution knew it. And, you better believe that the bankers receiving public funds, and sheepishly smiling, know it. This is just the short list. Ask the Argentinians, Germans, French, Dutch, Russians, and so on. I suppose, you have to ask the right people, because many continue to be shocked by these developments, which suggests they are unaware.
