Treasure hunters flock to Ironton

This is not market related but rather a heads up to those in the community looking to sell physical for various reasons.

Brett Allen of Coal Grove exchanged five Kennedy half-dollars for a check for $17.50 Tuesday. He walked away with a lighter pocket but a smile on his face.

“I’m pretty happy,” Allen said. “I had these just laying around.”

Five 90% U.S. half dollars, based on the silver content alone, are worth around $31-32 at $17.51 spot. The best defense, as always, is understanding and intelligence. As the spot market heats up, make sure your street IQ heats up too.
